Whether you're a local writer or visiting the beautiful Shuswap landscape, we encourage you to get the full retreat experience by staying at the historic Sorrento Centre and within the Richardson lodge. Our morning workshops, social events and meals will all take place here.
Writers are responsible for booking their own accomodation, but we've worked with the Sorrento Centre to make that easy and highly affordable. Prices per night: Single $74, Twin $89, Regular Lodge Room $99, Suite $139 (no tax applied).
Here's a description of your accomodation from the Sorrento Centre site: "Richardson Lodge, our Panabode cedar building, features comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, spacious lounges, large patio sundeck, convenient seminar room, and scenic views of the grounds and lake. Also available are a handicapped-accessible room and a suite with living room and kitchenette. Rooms accommodate from 1 to 3 guests. Guests have access to wi-fi throughout the Sorrento Centre grounds and are free to find quiet spaces in which to rest or work outside the Richardson Lodge."
Once you've registered with us, phone here to book your room in the Richardson Lodge: 250 675-2421 or (toll-free) 1 866-694-2409. Ask for the Richardson Lodge, and for the October retreat with Gail Anderson-Dargatz.
Retreat dates are: Sunday, September 29 to Friday, October 4 2019. Our retreat begins with a wine and cheese meet and greet in the evening of Sunday, September 30. Morning workshops continue from September 30 to October 4. Our week ends with lunch on Friday, October 4.
Another event begins at the Richardson Lodge on the evening of October 4, so if you need to stay that night because of travel, let staff at the Sorrento Centre know on booking your room. They'll help you out.
An affordable meal package is available for you at the Sorrento Centre dining room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included in that package. When you book your accomodation, ask for details about the meal package.
Grocery stores and restaurants are a short walk away from our workshop site, in the villiage of Sorrento.
